I Won't Grow Up!
Rev. Ed Townley
Although J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan
is often seen as a rousing
adventure story, complete with
pirates, crocodile, pitched
battles and daring rescues, its
deeper message is more
bittersweet. We are not here in
human form simply to entertain
ourselves with melodramatic
diversions. We have a spiritual
work to do, and it requires
setting aside what the apostle
Paul called "the things of a
child" and stepping up to a
greater sense of who we are and
why we're here. Rev. Ed
discusses the temptations and
message of Peter Pan with the
help of clips from the most
recent, British film version. |
