What we are looking for

With vibrant energy and passionate commitment to our music and performing arts, family, chaplaincy, outreach and interfaith ministries, Unity Church of Dallas (UCD) is a large, diverse and thriving spiritual center. We are looking for a Senior Minister with a heart and vision as big as Texas to join our family. He/She is a dynamic, inspirational speaker who appeals to our hearts and our intellect; a humble, visionary leader who listens to and empowers staff, volunteers, and congregants; and an executive decision-maker who excels in a collaborative, co-creative environment. He/She also demonstrates and cultivates a prosperity consciousness in himself/herself as well as the congregation. We are proud of our flourishing ministries, our dream-team staff, and the growing role UCD plays as a high profile spiritual center. Our next Senior Minister is someone who is ambitious for the greatness of our vision and has the capabilities to effectively lead the charge.

We are looking for the following key attributes to show up in our new Senior Minister:

Actively supports existing ministries
A passionate cheerleader and active champion for our newly developing ministries, such as Next Generation Unity, as well as for our currently strong ministries, which includes Music & Performing Arts, Youth & Family, Chaplaincy, Outreach, and many others.

Level 5 Leader
A respected and courageous servant leader, who with personal humility and professional will, understands how to effectively mobilize the powers of inclusion, language, shared interests, and coalition. “True leadership only exists if people follow when they have the freedom not to.” - Jim Collins, Good to Great and the Social Sectors

Inspiring Speaker
A compelling, high-energy teacher, who with spiritual and intellectual depth, and a strong, clear voice guides and inspires both Unity old-timers and newcomers alike to live Unity principles and be the change in our community and our lives. A catalyst that moves visitors, regular attendees, and members into ACTION, whether it is for them to participate in a class or event, become a volunteer, or make a contribution to a vision campaign.

Warmth/Interpersonal Skills
A warm, engaging soul, who with keen listening skills and a great sense of humor, wholeheartedly embraces supporting and getting to know UCD’s diverse congregation and visitors on a one-to-one basis.

Values Families
Families of all kinds, including those with married parents, divorced parents, single parents, gay parents, and guardian parents, have become an integral part of the UCD community. We are looking for an individual that embraces the dynamic energy and new life that families bring to our church. This includes support of our vibrant Children’s Church, Uniteens, and YOU, as well as family-oriented events, support groups, and other programming.

Prosperity Consciousness
The ideal candidate has demonstrated a working, successful comprehension of the principles of prosperity, both personally and professionally, and is comfortable talking about money and encouraging others to see money as an expression of Spirit.

Visionary/Fresh Ideas
A big picture thinker full of fresh ideas who is energized by a shared vision for UCD’s future and is capable of sorting through a myriad of opinions and possibilities to discern the best, most direct route for accomplishing our short and long-range goals.
