REGISTRATION
FOR
CHILDREN'S CHURCH CLASSES
A parent
or guardian through the Children's Church office should register all
children and youth that plan to attend class, other than as a guest.
There is also a Parent Handbook available that parents are encouraged
to take home and read.
CHILDREN'S
CHURCH CLASSES
The Children's
Church at Unity Church of Dallas is dedicated to the spiritual unfoldment
of this world's most precious resource - the children. To help our young
people, infants through high school age, understand their oneness with
God, we offer Sunday school classes that meet at the same time as the
Sunday worship services, 9 and 11 am. A devoted group of volunteers,
"Children's Church teachers", are knowledgeable in Unity principles
and receive training that allows them to use Unity based curriculums
to the utmost potential. Through the use of Bible stories and the practical
life application of these stories, children are able to travel their
own spiritual paths. In addition to the Bible, the use of virtues (the
goodness or God traits that are within each of us) is emphasized in
every class.
Toddlers thru Fifth Grade
Preschoolers and those in the fifth grade and above receive their
spiritual guidance in a classroom setting. The younger school age children
enjoy class followed by Assembly. The latter involves an object lesson,
prayer and guided meditation, and joy- songs as well as a love offering.
These children then enter the sanctuary for the children's blessing
and to sing the closing song.
Uniteens (6th,
7th & 8th grade)
The uniquely wonderful Uniteens group meets at 11 on Sunday mornings
and bi-monthly on Wednesday evenings. Uniteens is not a traditional
Sunday school class. Spirituality is viewed as something within all
of us, to be touched on and drawn out by sharing and growing together.
Unity based lessons are more likely to be learned by playing Bible bingo,
creating a collage or brain-storming rather that listening to a lecture.
Youth of Unity (Y.O.U.) (9th though 12th grades)
Youth of Unity is a group of teens who come together to learn Unity
principles, serve the community, and share loving spiritual fellowship.
Lessons are facilitated by the YOUer's themselves, the adult sponsors
participate by providing insight and direction as needed. The group
meets in Y.O.U. Room on Sunday mornings at eleven o'clock and on Wednesday
evenings at 7 pm.
