Walking
the Labyrinth
Open
to All: Anytime
Northeast Parking Lot
Cost: None
Take
a walk . . .at the Unity Church of Dallas on the Labyrinth. To
enjoy this peace bringing experience, a physical walk is done
through a geometrically designed path, located in the Northeast
Parking Lot, which winds throughout and becomes a mirror for walkers
to discover where they are in their lives. Throughout the walk
listen to the body, it will indicate when to be still or continue
walking. Walkers often find themselves feeling intense emotions
- laughing or crying while walking - this could be due to the
3 stages of the labyrinth:
- Stage
1 Purgation - a releasing, a letting of the details in life.
This is an act of shedding thoughts and emotions. It quiets
and empties the mind while walking into the Labyrinth.
- Stage
2 Illumination - may occur when the center is reached. Stay
there as long as you like. It is a place of meditation and prayer.
Receive what is there for you to receive.
- Stage
3 Union - which is joining God, the divine healing force at
work in the world. Each time you walk out of the Labyrinth,
you become more empowered to find and do the work you feel your
soul desiring.
*Guidelines
for the Walking the Labyrinth are available
in the reception area of the building.
