The mission of the Volunteer Department is to offer service opportunities to further your spiritual development.

Volunteering is the best way to get connected, to bond with others and to be of service to your community.

For information about volunteering your time and talents to your spiritual community contact the volunteer department at volunteer@unitydallas.org or (972) 233-7106 x234.

You may also visit the Volunteer Table located just outside the sanctuary across from fellowship hall. There you will find information on all available volunteer opportunities.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

The opportunities available for giving gifts of the heart,
the mind, the spirit as well as gifts of time and words
are many.

Caring Circle - Caring Circle members provide short-term assistance to the disabled, shut-in or ill members of our congregation. They offer rides to church, pick up groceries from the store and prescriptions from the pharmacy, read newspapers and Unity materials to people in nursing homes and run small errands. Members are assigned to people who live in their community or within range of their zip code.

Family Ministries

Bless our kids, bless yourself. The number of families involved in Children's Church grows every week. Your participation as a guardian, greeter, baby hugger, or assistant teacher at the 11 o'clock service would bless our children greatly, our church and - as with all giving - you. We are looking for a once or twice a month commitment.

Habitat for Humanity

Are you good at painting? Have you ever wanted to learn a little carpentry? Habitat for Humanity begins its spring build in February, and Unity Church of Dallas is a major supporter. Come put your skills to work for two great organizations.

Specific jobs are done on specific days, so come to the Volunteer Center and choose the days that fit your schedule or your interests.

Habitat is a charitable organization that builds or remodels homes for disadvantages families. UCD supports it through the Richardson Area Interfaith Habitat for Humanity. The family who will eventually live in the house will be working alongside you, adding sweat equity to their own home. This is wonderfully rewarding work, making the world a little better for one family at a time.

Outreach Ministry - Serve on the team that serves the greater Dallas area and beyond. Current opportunities include delivering red wagons to Scottish Rite hospital and organizing collections for Tsunami relief.

Bookstore -
Weekday Bookstore Cashiers Needed!

The bookstore is looking for volunteers willing to make a long term, commitment to cashier one day a week. This opportunity is perfect for you if you are friendly, patient, reliable and comfortable handling money and a computer. We need volunteers Monday through Thursday. The normal volunteer hours are Mondaythrough Thursday from 4:30 - 7:30 (3 hours), or we can arrange a couple hour time slot within that time frame. We will train you to use our cashier program. The bookstore volunteers are a tight knit family and a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and make enduring friendships.
