Being A Participatory Ministry –
Four Big Questions
Saturday, Jan 28, 2012
9:30 am – 4 pm
Rev. Anna Shouse, Ph.D.
Free
All Are Encouraged to Attend
Bring Your Own Lunch - No Time to Go Out
This workshop is a “must-attend” event for all

This workshop is a “must-attend” event for all UoD participants. The UoD community is starting the property decision-making process. The big question to be answered over the next nine months is, “What type of building and property does UoD need in order to be the ministry Spirit has called it to be?” In order to genuinely and dependably answer that question this community needs to address and have a meaningful exchange
of ideas about Four Big Questions. Using structured techniques, this workshop will
open the dialogue about the Big Four. This sets the stage for this dialogue to continue in a variety of smaller group settings over the coming months. The UoD community’s ability to converse openly about these questions and over time come to understanding and consensus on them will form the foundation for a wise property decision. Plan
to participate in this stimulating and important community workshop.
The Big Four Questions are:
• What does it look like to be a ministry grounded and centered in spiritual principle?
• What does it mean to be a participatory ministry, guided by its vision and mission
rather than a minister personality-centric ministry?
• What role does congregational size play? Is it important? Why or why not? For what
   reasons?
• What about money? How do we live and practice prosperity principles as a church
   community?

Keys to Abundant Living
Sunday, Jan 29, 1:30 pm
Esther Nicholson
Love offering

We are delighted to welcome Esther back to our church community! This time, she leads us on a threehour inward journey to rediscover the abundant good that is already available, awaiting our willingness, acceptance and alignment. We are invited to . . .

• Expand into a deeper awareness and embodiment of a loving, immutable
Principle that is real, available, present, constant and prosperous.
• Deepen our understanding of our ONENESS with It.
• Re-image ourselves it Its image and likeness – and pray FROM our union with and AS a   perfect expression of Spirit.
• Visualize and script out our heart’s desires from the awareness that “It is already done.”
• Embrace a forgiveness process incorporating the principles of Radical   Forgiveness and   Step 9 of the 12 Steps.
• Commit to forty days of prayer, meditation, affi rmations and forgiveness.
This level of spiritual willingness creates the transformation in consciousness that aligns   us with all the good of the Universe.

Season For Nonviolence
Monday Jan 30th - April 4th

A season for Nonviolence is a national 64-day educational, media, and grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. Inspired by the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world. http://www.agnt.org/node/10

We invite you print out the affirmation attached and use it daily during the 64 timeframe to demostrate your power to heal and create peace. Click here to print your copy of the affirmation.

On the other side of the towering Himalayas of the chattering mind! Students can easily access this exquisite inner life by allowing what is - like current circumstances, thoughts, and emotions. The defining benefit of Unleash Your Inner Genius is allowing what is. This simple, elegant practice yields results within a few days and can be done in as little as five minutes a day. What keeps negative conditions in place is resistance.

Unleash Your Inner Genius teaches how to drop resistance long enough to experience inner peace, improve relationships, delete anger, irritation, insomnia, worry and depression . . . while taking 5-10 years off one's face!

Kabbalah For Christians
Hugo Schwyzer
Sunday, Feb 19th, 1:30-3 pm.
$36 pre-registered by February 16th, $42 at door.
Track: ES

Once considered so mysterious that it could only be studied by married men over 40, Kabbalah has for centuries been concealed within Judaism.  Only in recent decades has it become available to all as a set of spiritual tools.  Increasingly, many of those who study Kabbalah come from Christian backgrounds. Christians have studied Kabbalah for hundreds of years.  But today, many wonder how to reconcile their faith with kabbalistic practice. Questions about the nature of the Messiah, about reincarnation, about astrology, and about redemption often serve as stumbling blocks as Christians seek to incorporate Kabbalah into their spiritual lives.

Hugo Schwyzer is professor of history at Pasadena City College in California.  He holds a Ph.D in Christian History from UCLA, and has lectured about Kabbalah and Christianity to thousands of seekers on four continents.  In an exciting 90-minute lecture and workshop, Professor Schwyzer explains how Christianity and Kabbalah are theologically compatible – and how a Christian can integrate this ancient spiritual wisdom into his or her life.
