This is an informal discussion group to explore the Bhagavad Gita.
Beginners are welcome, and will not feel lost;
Long-time students will gain insight as we dive deeply into the many layers of this great metaphysical text.
The Bhagavad Gita ("The Song of God") is a 700 verse Hindu scripture in Sanskrit that is part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. It is the best known and most famous of Hindu texts, and presents a synthesis of Hindu ideas about dharma, theistic bhakti, and the yogic paths to moksha.
Gandhi referred to the Gita as his "spiritual dictionary".
We will keep it light, even when digging deep, and varying degrees of scholarship are encouraged to attend so that we can share a multitude of perspectives on the text as we read.
