“Twelve Powers: Order” Sunday Sermon
"Remember that there is a mighty unifying principle of order pervading and sustaining the universe. Divine order is the perfect love of God expressing itself harmoniously in His creation. Divine order pervades and controls all visible, material things as well as all the infinite silent, unseen powers. When a man promotes the expression of divine order in his body and affairs by consciously conforming to God’s energy, he experiences a greater degree of order in all his affairs.” – Lowell Fillmore
This Sunday at 11 am we will draw from Lowell Fillmore’s wisdom, the eldest son of the Fillmore’s. After Charles Fillmore’s passing in 1948, Lowell became president of Unity School of Christianity (the headquarters at Unity Village). He led Unity for nearly 25 years (1948–1972), overseeing Silent Unity, Unity correspondence courses, and publishing. His leadership was marked by stability, continuity, and expansion of Unity’s global reach.
Aligning ourselves with our Christ within is aligning ourselves with God/Spirit. If we are aligned we are "in the flow.” Problems seems to work themselves out; we see more clearly that which we need to see. I learned the phrase, “Let go and let God” in Al-Anon and I haven’t forgotten it. I can puzzle over something for days or years until I remember to just “let go.” And sometime soon I seem to grow into the answer.
My great aunt introduced me to this poem by Maria Rilke, a German poet. “Don’t seek the answers that cannot be given to you now, because you wouldn’t be able to live them. Live the questions themselves…and perhaps you will gradually, without noticing it, live your way into the answer.” - Rainer Maria Rilke 1903
