Spring has no almanac or chart

To say when grief and winter go.

Spring does not wait upon the heart;

It would bring back its beauty though

It were unseen; the singing bird

Would sing if it were never heard.

Why should we hug last winter's grief

When every leaf unfolds and grows?

Have we less faith than a frail leaf?

Now the least clod foretells a rose—

Have we less courage than a clod ?

Good people, we are sons of God!
