In addition to directing a portion of its monthly budget to NDSM, Unity of Dallas will contribute hundreds of volunteer hours each year to this volunteer-run organization.
NDSM is a joint project of over 50 religious communities of all denominations. It helps low-income people in its 20-zip code service area by providing a food pantry, medical and dental services, clothing closet, ESL classes, assistance in applying for benefits, and job counseling. Unity of Dallas volunteers will be trained to serve in all these areas, and we will conduct periodic food drives to help replenish the food pantry.
Members of our own congregation who find themselves in need of assistance are eligible to receive services, as are people who walk through our doors seeking assistance.
Rick Horsey will represent Unity of Dallas on NDSM’s Advisory Council and will coordinate food drives and volunteer recruitment. Please contact him at [email protected] to volunteer or to receive a referral for services.
