Children’s Church
Age: Infant -11 (Nursery-5th grade)

Meet: Children’s Church (downstairs)

Time: 11 AM

Children’s Church is for kids and infants through 5th grade and is held at 11:00 am in different Children’s Church class rooms. The classes are focused on basic Unity principles and metaphysical teaching, including prayer, meditation, affirmations and more.
As part of the Sunday routine, the children gather in the Assembly room for a lesson and meditation before they go to their classes. In their classrooms, the children work on the lessons, as well as crafts with their teachers. Lesson curriculums are geared to each age group and ability.

Parents or guardians are required to sign-in their children each Sunday. At the end of the service, parents are asked to return to Children’s Church and sign out the children.

UNIteens
Age: 12-14 (6th-8th grade)

Meet: downstairs class rooms

Time: 11 AM

UNIteens is our middle school teens (6th-8th grade) who meet at 11:00 am on Sunday. They, along with their sponsors, decide their own course of studies based on Unity guidelines. They participate in the blessing on Sunday morning and with many of the Children’s Church activities as well as with the Y.O.U.

At this level, they attend Unitreets (UNIteen retreats) and over night lock-ins here at church. They are also given the opportunity for community service hours and fund raisers for their own projects.

YOU (Youth of Unity)
Age: 14-18 (9th-12th grade)

Meet: Upstairs in YOU Room

Time: 11 AM

What is YOU?

The Youth of Unity (YOU) is an international youth group for teens ages 14-18 (grades 9-12). The purpose of YOU is to encourage and assist in the spiritual growth of all young people who are seeking to express the indwelling Christ in accordance with the principles of practical Christianity as taught and interpreted by Unity Institute and the Association of Unity Churches International. YOU provides youth the opportunity to explore Unity’s principles and other truth teachings and to demonstrate these in their daily lives.

What about our active YOU group?

The Unity of Dallas YOU group meets on a Sunday morning at 11:00 am. The students and sponsors meet at the “Red House” – the cute brick house behind the church. There are a few times a year when they don’t meet – when everyone is at a rally or helping with the younger children. They create their own course of study under the mentorship of the Y.O.U sponsors. Our YOU discuss and learn a variety of spiritual teachings, attend social gatherings, do outreach (Plano Balloon Festival and Toys For Tots for example) and become involved in their church and community. Officers, or a leadership team, are elected at the beginning of each school year to help plan the above-mentioned events.

What is a region?

Each state belongs to one of the seven ministerial regions as defined by the Association of Unity Churches International (dba Unity Worldwide Ministries). Unity of Dallas YOU is in the North Texas Community. Each region hosts many events, or rallies, for its YOU groups. Regional representatives are elected yearly to plan the YOU experiences on a regional level. These events include rallies, leadership events, lock-ins, subregional activities, fundraisers and service projects.

What are rallies?

Rallies are weekend-long retreats that encourage fellowship as well as the sharing of ideas and experiences in the framework of Unity principles. UoD YOU hold fundraising events throughout the year to be able to attend the rallies and other regional events. To attend a rally, teens must be attending Y.O.U. regularly and must have the certain amount of service hours. YOU pay for 1/3, the Church pays for 1/3 and the teens/parents pay for 1/3. Rallies are fun, spirit filled and full of love. Teens and sponsors alike all love going to them!
