In this class facilitated by Al Mahesh from Ananda Dallas participants are exposed to meditation in the style of Paramhansa Yogananda, a Self-Realized master, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, and pioneer who brought Yoga to the West and taught the similarities between the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita.
Topics covered include how to meditate – posture, breathing, energization of the body, breath control (Pranayama), mantras, and more. In addition, we will discuss how to achieve states of higher consciousness – super consciousness, Christ Consciousness, and Cosmic Consciousness. Autobiography of a Yogi was a favorite of Steve Jobs and John Lennon and the Gurus of this lineage were featured on the cover of the Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
Yogananda’s teachings have reached millions of people and continue to be relevant today to help us find peace and self-realization regardless of outside circumstances.
