Mindfulness and Self-Compassion in the Age of Narcissism:
Narcissistic abuse is an insidious form of emotional abuse which is difficult to identify and harder to heal. Through both their personal and professional experiences, Alfie and Shannon have developed a model for recovery. The patterns within a narcissistic relationship can result in erosion of the self and the emergence of a shame-based identity. Due to the nature of this abuse, it can be a long and arduous process for recovery of the true self. Research indicates that Mindfulness and Self-Compassion can greatly facilitate lasting recovery from narcissistic abuse.
